Delete your account
Last updated October 17, 2026
You can permanently delete your Postango account and its data at any time. This page explains how, what we delete, and what we keep. Postango is operated by Postango LLC.
In the app or on the website
- Sign in to Postango.
- In the phone app, open Settings › Delete account (under Privacy & security). On the website, open Settings › Security and choose Delete my account at the bottom.
- Type DELETE in the box, then press the delete button. It works the same in the app and on the website.
Want a copy first? Download my data saves your account, posts, settings and usage as one file, with download links for your videos and footage. On the website it is in Settings › Security, just above Delete my account; in the phone app, in Settings › Security & account. The links work for 1 hour after the file is made, so save your videos and footage from them before you delete your account: the files are deleted within 24 hours of the deletion. For anything else we hold, email support@postango.ai.
Can't sign in?
Email support@postango.ai from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We reply to that address to confirm it's you, then delete the account the same way the app does, within 30 days of your confirmation. A plan bought on the website ends when the account is deleted, not when you email us.
What we delete
- Right away: your login, business details, brand settings, presets, the records of your uploads and videos, captions, posts and schedule, usage history, and the other records your account kept in our app. Your videos and footage disappear from the app at once; the files themselves go in the next step.
- Within 24 hours (we start straight away and keep trying until each is done): the video and footage files themselves: your stored clips, photos, music, intro clips (yours and AI-made) and finished videos (we check again a few hours later for anything that was still being made); your customer records at Stripe, our payment processor, which ends a subscription bought on the website at once: no further charge is taken, and the unused part of the period is not refunded; your customer record at RevenueCat, which tracks plans bought in the Postango app (this does not cancel a plan: see “What we keep”); your social-account connections at the service that publishes for us; and any transcripts of your videos still held by ElevenLabs, the service that turns speech into captions for us.
- Within 30 days: the diagnostic logs our video-editing system keeps, including any copies we downloaded to investigate a problem; the record of your sign-ins and account changes that Supabase, the service that runs our logins, keeps for 7 days; and our database backups.
What we keep
- Posts already published to your social accounts. They live on those platforms; delete them there.
- The record of payments you made, which Stripe keeps as the law requires.
- A plan bought in the app. Apple or Google bills you for it, so deleting your account does not cancel it: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Apple or Google keeps its own purchase records, which we cannot delete. Any other plan on the account ends at once when you delete it.
- A record that your account was deleted: an internal ID number, not your name or email, kept for 90 days. If a payment is still taken after the deletion (a renewal that was already under way, say), we are told automatically, and this record is how we find it and refund it. You don't need to ask.
- A code made from your email address, if you confirmed it: not the address, and not linked to anything else about you. Each email address gets one free trial, and this is how a new account with the same address is known to have had it.
- Voiceovers made for your videos, which ElevenLabs, the service that speaks them, keeps in Postango's account there: the words of each voiceover and its audio, not your footage. They are kept with no end date: we keep no record of which voiceovers were yours, so we can't delete them.
- Emails you sent us, including the copy of any report you made about something our AI made, which stay in our support inbox. Ask, and we'll delete them.
- Operational messages and logs that mention your account (our alert channel and alert email, and the logs our hosting, video-processing and email providers keep), deleted on those services' own schedules, not on request.
Confirmation
When the deletion goes through, we email the address on the account to say so. If you didn't ask for it, reply to that email straight away.
